Warsaw celebrated its 400th anniversary as the capital of Poland in 1996. Warsaw is notable among Europe's capital cities not for its size, its age, or its beauty but for its indestructibility. Location of St. John's Cathedral is filled with other Gothic churches, countless restaurants and cafes. Other tourist attractions include the reconstructed Royal Castle, the Historical Museum of Warsaw, the Water Palace in Lazienki Park and the Wilanow Summer Palace, The Palace of Culture and the Powazki Cemetery. A little out of the city you are also able to visit the birthplace of Frederic Chopin at Zelazowa Wola.
