Originally a hunting seat of the counts of Holland The Hauge became the center of Dutch court life after William of Holland his castle in 1248. The city is now Holland's chief administrative center home to the Supreme Court and seat of the government. Guided tours are available through the Parliament Buildings and Knights' Hall. Other attractions include Duinrell Attraction Park and the famous beaches of Scheveningen and Wassenaar located a few km from the city.
