The Musee d'Orsay is a national museum that opened to the public in December 1986. The collection spans from 1848 to 1914 with Monet and Renoir represented here, neo-impressionists and also those who paved the way for modern painting such as Van Gogh. Besides painting, sculpture and decorative arts, the museum has also established collections of furniture, architecture and photography.
