Hotel des Invalides was founded by XIV to house aged or crippled veterans and is still home to around 100 pensioners. In the chapels of Saint-Louis enclosed in six coffins is the body of Napoleon I. His uniforms, personal arms, and death bed can be viewed at the front of the Invalides in the Musee de l'Armee. Here you can also find the tombs of Napoleons brothers and son whose body was returned from Vienna in 1940 by Hitler.
