The wide boulevard of the Champs-Elysees is the most famous avenue in Europe and believed to be the finest in the world. Millions stroll up and down the cafe and cinema lined avenue each year making it the number one tourist spot in Paris. Still central to Parisian celebration on Bastille Day (July 14th) the pavements swap the lines of traffic for the parading French army. However families should be aware that once night falls the side streets are next to deserted.
