It is the capitol and largest city of the state of Oklahoma. Oklahoma City is a large, diverse and growing city. It is one of the largest cities in the Great Plains of the United States. Like much of the rest of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City was first settled on April 22, 1889, when the area known as the "unassigned lands" opened for settlement in an event known as "The Land Run". Today the city of Oklahoma is filled full of attractions and its various districts are of great interest offering something for everyone.
