Nurnberg is a city of old world charm with its medieval city center. The medieval Kaiserburg Castle towers provides a majestically backdrop to the old town or Altstadt. In the summer months the Altstadt comes alive with street theatre and music and in the winter with the world-famous Christkindl Christmas market. It is here that the worlds first pocket watches, the Nürnberg eggs were made and the town is still associated with traditional produce like gingerbread and handmade toys.
