New Orleans located on a bend in the Mississippi River is home to a diverse music culture, voodoo and of course Mardi Gras, one of the world's largest parties. The name sake of Phillipe Duc d'Orleans the then Regent of France the city has enjoyed a colorful history with its unique cultural mix. The heart of the original city is the French Quarter with Royal Street its 'Main Street'. One of the main attractions of the area is the Old U.S. Mint. Other attractions include St. Louis Cathedral, the oldest in the US and the Cabildo and the Presbytère history museums. Away from the French Quarter in New Orleans East is Jazzland a 140-acre theme park of jazz history.
