When it first opened in 1885 Whitleys was Britain's first department store, and proud to say it could offer and quote for everything from a pin to an elephant. The Whiteleys shopping center as we recognize it today was opened in 1989 as a mall, with selling space in excess of 300,000 sq. ft. As one of London's premier shopping centers, it offers the biggest variety of shops, restaurants and cinemas all under one roof in the heart of Bayswater. Some of the main high street names you will find there are Marks & and Spencer, Vidal Sassoon, Benetton, Body Shop, Ciro and Ace Of Cards. The center also plays host to weekly music concerts and one of the largest free art galleries in London.

Underground: Central Line, Circle Line, District Line

Bus Routes: 7, 15, 27, 36, 70, 88

Connections for Bayswater and Westbourne: Tube and bus connections in the Bayswater Area to the rest of London are excellent. With buses a good number to remember is 15, this will take you round the major tourist attractions at a much cheaper price than an official sight seeing tour! Paddington Station is virtually on the doorstep with a direct rail link, 'The Heathrow Express' arriving every 15 minutes from the airport.
