Apparently the name 'Soho' originates from Royal Huntsmen who are said to have hunted here in the park lands crying out 'So-Ho!'. Although Soho once had a notoriously sleazy 'red light district' image, the reality today is that it has become a victim of 'yuppification.' Its street are lined with an odd amalgam of gourmet restaurants, trendy cafes, theatres and nightclubs with a scattering of X-rated shops. Soho has an international flavour and an exciting counter cultural history which includes the Jazz, Rock and Punk scenes.

| | Connections for The West End: Tube and bus connections in the West End to the rest of London are excellent. If you are flying into Heathrow Airport, you can take the Airbus or Underground Piccadilly Line. With buses a good number to remember is 15, this will take you round the major tourist attractions at a much cheaper price than an official sight seeing tour!
