The Unit for Disabled Passengers was set up within London Transport in 1984 to co-ordinate initiatives aimed at making public transport in London more accessible to people with disabilities.
*Station Link* - This is a fully accessible bus service for people who find cross-London train connections something of a challenge. They are fitted with an easy to board ramp entrance for wheelchair users. The kneeling suspension drops the floor level down to the curb. Buses run on a circular route in both directions seven days a week. Stops can be found at:

- Marlebone
- Euston
- Kings Cross/St Pancras
- Liverpool Street
- Fenchurch Street
- London Bridge
- Waterloo
- Victoria
- Victoria Coach Station
*Airbus* - Fully accessible air-conditioned double-deck buses link Central London with all four terminals at Heathrow. Airbus service A1 connects with Stationlink at Victoria Coach Station and service A2 with Stationlink at Euston.
*The London Underground* - Very few underground stations in central London are accessible to wheelchairs however plans are been made to create a network of stations with step-free access.
*Taxi's* - From 1 January 2000 all London's licensed black cabs will be wheelchair accessible.
