Crete, the largest of the Greek islands is home to the oldest civilization in Europe, the Minoan. Places of interest on the island include Iraklion the capital of Crete and the famous excavations at the Palace of Knossos. Crete also has many great beaches, some of the nicest can be found near Vai.
