The medieval city of Bruges is so well preserved that it appears one giant museum. The medieval gothic architecture and guilded houses give the impression that you have been transported back to the middle ages. The city center is formed by the impressive market place with its fine facades and adjacent castle. The city also has a wealth of museums and outdoor cafes serving the many Belgian beers. Other attractions include boat trips down the city's canals in this "Venice of North".
