The capital of Slovakia, Bratislava, is small and cheerful city. Located on the River Danube it is a city that has much to offer the visitor. From the center of the Old Town or Stavé Mesto it easy to locate the main attractions that include Trinity Church famed for its frescos and Corpus Christi Church, Kaplnka Bozieho Tela that is now a museum packed with icons and jewelry. The 15th-century hard Bratislava Castle has been recently restored and offers half of the Slovak National Museum and stunning views across the Danube plain. Just out side the city is the famed castle of Devín. Further afield are the High Tatras where traditional rural life is still evident in the villages.
