If you are going on holiday to Lanzarote then lucky for you: Lanzarote is a great island with a perfect climate and lots of interesting and varied scenery. All of Canary Islands offer a great climate and active nightlife and are great tourist spots for these reasons, but Lanzarote is the only one of these that offers a bright green lagoon, mountain ranges, volcanoes, caves and mountains on top of the usual beaches and cities.

The question then is not whether you should go to Lanzarote, but rather how you should go about holidaying there – for which there are several options including all inclusive resorts, budget hotels or villas.

For many, and particularly for families, villas offer the largest number of benefits. Here we shall examine what some of those are.

Privacy: First of all, by holidaying in a villa you will get an unparalleled level of privacy. If you are in a hotel – even the most expensive of hotels – then you will be sharing your swimming pool. This then means that if you want to sunbathe topless you’ll have the prying eyes of several thousand other guests, it means that while you’re relaxing you’ll have to contend with the shrieks of other people’s children, and it means that you’ll be constantly worried when your own children go off to adventure.

Conversely in a villa you will get your own private pool which no one else will even be able to see, meaning you can skinny dip if that’s your bag and meaning there’s no need to worry about anyone getting lost or talking to any strangers.

Space: With a hotel you will get one small room to call your own, and maybe two if you are willing to shell out for a five star establishment. However in a villa you will get multiple rooms, a living room, a kitchen, bathrooms, garden and more. This means you can relax and play in a much greater number of ways than you otherwise would be able to – whether that means playing football in the garden with your family, or whether it means relaxing and watching TV together in the evening or playing a board game. This is the best way to holiday.

Transport: And meanwhile the fact that you have a front garden will also allow you to rent a car. This then means you’ll be able to see more of the island than you otherwise would, it means you won’t need to worry about walking long distances if you have elderly members in your party, and it means you can carry your luggage easily to and from the airport.

Savings: You’ll also save a huge amount of money by staying in a villa. While it might not be as cheap to stay in a villa as it is to stay in a truly budget hotel, it will still be cheaper than most resorts and nicer hotels and certainly offers the best value for money. What makes this even more impressive though is the fact that you pay the same price no matter how many people are staying in the building. In other words, rather than increasing per head, you will in fact save huge amounts for each additional traveller. The bigger your group is then, the more sense it makes for you to stay in a villa. And of course you’ll also save a huge amount on your food and drink – second only to staying in an all inclusive – as you’ll be able to buy food in bulk and have some evenings in.

Experience: In many ways you get a more authentic experience when you stay in a villa. This way you get to experience what it’s actually like to live in Lanzarote because you’ll experience the driving, the shopping and the neighbourhood. It’s like having a house in the Canaries for a fortnight rather than staying in a nondescript hotel that could be anywhere in the world.
