“The land of the rising sun”, Japan has a lot to offer to tourists who search for splendor and beauty. This country located in East Asia boasts of many monuments and temples. My exploration on this place led me to believe that it is best to familiarize myself with the language before I plan for a visit. The country which was battered due to the nuclear attacks is filled with hard working people, people who have embraced peace and value it dearly.
The people of Japan are known for their politeness. There are numerous places worth visiting in Japan, with fascinating architecture and rich history. One of the well kept monuments to be visited in Japan is the Himeji Castle. This structure is fully constructed in wood and has a total of 83 buildings. It talks about how proficient the Japanese have been in the field of architecture as far behind as 1333 when their ruler Norimura Akamatsu constructed it. The castle that has endured damages during the Onin war and World War II has been brought back to its shape. This castle is built on the hill Himeyama and is also referred to as “White Heron”. This site will not just surprise you with its architecture but is also a treat to your eyes owing to the wonderful scenic beauty surrounding it.

Japan is home to the world’s longest bridge, Akashi Kaikyo Bridge or simply the “Pearl Bridge”. It shows the great engineering talent that the country has nurtured. This bridge took a total of 12 years for its completion and stands as a vital link in providing routes across the inland. In fact, there has been great deal of planning and care taken during its construction to ensure that it can remain unaffected by the worst of the earthquakes and problematic sea currents. The people of Japan realized the potential of this bridge to attract tourists and also went ahead and built 2 parks in the vicinity of the bridge. This would make the visit a wholesome experience.
Nature has blessed this country abundantly with its beauty. One such beautiful place is the Mount Fuji. The tallest mountain of Japan is also one among the 3 holy mountains in the country. The other two are the Tate and Haku. Year over year, this cone shaped mountain draws innumerable tourists who seek adventure. They usually take up the challenge of climbing or trekking the mountain. To enjoy the beauty of the rising sun, one must watch it from the top of Mount Fuji. It is possible to climb this mountain only in the months of July and August. The tourists set out during the night so that they can reach the top of the mountain on time to catch the glimpse of the rising sun.
These are just some of the gems that Japan has to offer to the curious visitors. Added to the above, there are museums that give us an insight into their art and culture. There are also many theme parks for the tiny tots to make their journey equally memorable.
