Despite the fact that modern man experiences a relative ease of travel that didn’t exist even a hundred years ago, there is still plenty to complain about when it comes to public transportation, especially airline travel. Although you can go farther faster than your ancestors ever dreamed, still there are a lot of worries that come along with getting from point A to point B. And while common setbacks like long lines, overweight luggage, baggage searches, and delayed flights can slow you down and lead to supreme annoyance, there are, in fact, much worse disasters that can beset the unwary traveler. If you want to be prepared to handle such unfortunate occurrences, you need to put a little time into planning ahead. Here are just a few things you may want to consider.

Let someone know where you are. The worst thing you can do is take off at a moment’s notice without informing anyone of your whereabouts. Suppose you should get into an accident and end up in the hospital with no ID. No one will be looking for you and you may not be able to get in touch with those who need to be informed.
Write down important numbers. It’s not totally improbably that your cell phone could be lost, stolen, or simply die (due to a power cord that you left at home). So make sure you have important numbers from your contact list written down in case technology fails you. Such numbers would include who to call in case of emergency, your doctor, and possibly even a lawyer (what happens in Vegas could land you in legal trouble).
Stock up on meds. Delays and cancellations could leave you stuck in an airport in another city. For this reason, it’s probably a good idea to have all of the prescriptions you might need on hand, and a few day’s extra, at that.
Keep your ID hidden. One of the worst things that can happen to a traveler abroad is losing identification. So keep it safe and out of sight, preferably in some kind of hidden money belt where passing street urchins can’t easily get their hands on it (or it won’t fall out and get lost). It will be a lot of hassle and paperwork to get back into your own country without it.
Use traveler’s checks. Cash may be king, but most places accustomed to travelers will still take these bank- or credit-card-backed checks. And if you lose them for any reason, they are covered so you can get them quickly and easily replaced.
Get a guide. If you’re traveling to a foreign country, consider hiring a guide to take you gallivanting. This is especially important if you don’t know the language, the customs, and the many hazards that await the ignorant traveler.
Prepare kids. If you’re traveling with children, it’s best to equip them with the skills needed to handle becoming lost (it can easily happen in a crowd). Make them wear ID bracelets or some other form of identification and let them know that they should approach an authority figure if they get separated from you. In addition, keep current photos of your kids on you in case a search is called for.

Bulgaria’s east coast is on the Black Sea. It is on one 7 km (4.5 mile) stretch of beach where you will find the most popular summer destination in Bulgaria, Sunny Beach or Slanchev Briag as it is known to locals. It is situated in the locality of Nessebar, which is the first town to the south and if you are in the area you cannot permit yourself to miss visiting the old town of Nessebar. It is situated on a peninsular which is connected to the mainland by a thin stretch of land barely wide enough for a road and a promenade. All the buildings in the old town are in the style of traditional bulgarian homes and new builds are also kept in the same style, combined with the ancient churches and cobbled streets make it a UNESCO world heritage site.

Also in the locality of Nessebar and to the north of Sunny Beach you will find St Vlas which has recently beenupgraded from a village to a town. It has been built on the site where the Balkan mountain range meets the sea, so at St Vlas you will find a fantastic beach as well as the benefits of the foothills.

The Black Sea coast in Bulgaria is a lot easier to reach than you may expect as there are two international airports. In the north there is Varna and further south you will find Bourgas airport (one of the fastest growing globally, in recent years). Alternatively you can reach it by sea and it is certainly recommended to take a short cruise from Istanbul if you are in the Turkish capital city.
