The Rijksmuseum is the most famous museum in the Netherlands. Opened in 1885 it has grown steadily ever since and now includes paintings dating from the fifteenth century up until 1850. With works by all the Dutch Masters of the Golden Age it houses one of the best Rembrandt collections in the world.
