Aachen is located in western Germany close to the borders with Belgium and the Netherlands. The city has played a prominent role in German history with the coronation of 30 German Kings taking place in the Aachen cathedral. Today you will find historic squares and fountains, festivals and arts and crafts fairs. The town also has an annual Christmas market.
