Netherlands, often known as Holland, is located in northwest region of Europe. Netherlands is a monarchy with a constitutional parliamentary democracy. The capital city is Amsterdam but the government seat of the country is The Hague. The people and the language are termed as Dutch. Netherlands is the sixteenth largest global economy. Rotterdam is the largest port in Europe. The rivers Rhine and Meuse provide inland navigation access up to Basel in Switzerland. The population of Netherlands is about 16,500,000 in 2009. Netherlands had been famous for its painters like Rembrandt and van Gogh. The windmills of Netherlands are a major source of energy and a major tourist attraction. The Dutch Delftware pottery, tulips and wooden shoes are also popular items associated with this lovely country.
